Client Communication in the ER: Module 4 of Foundations in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

Dr. Kelly Cairns co-developed Module 4: Client Communication in the ER with Kathleen Fish, DVM, for Foundations in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (FVECC), the online program from the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS).
The RACE-approved module teaches how to build client trust quickly, manage emotionally charged conversations and reach agreement on a diagnostic and treatment plan in the emergency room. It follows a realistic exam room encounter and ends with a branching simulation in which learners practice the conversation themselves.
FVECC is a self-paced, beginner-level program for veterinary students, trainees and professionals building a foundation in emergency and critical care.
